Ancaster in Minor Ontario Championships
Our Ancaster 10s captured the league's sixth District 1 Championship earlier this month and on Friday begin the road to the provincial championship hosted by Brockville Little League.
July 29 Update Ancaster wins their 3rd Provincial Championship defeating East Nepean 8-6 in a thrilling championship game. While Ancaster never trailed they broke open a 5-5 tie in the top of the 6th to take the lead and held off East Nepean to win the Championship.
Congratulations to Coach Mike Hook and his 10 year old Diamondbacks for capturing the league's 3rd Provincial Championship.
And we would like to thank the host committee at Brockville for 5 wonderful days, and congratulations to East Nepean on a wonderful season and two really tough games in this championship.
July 28 Update- Ancaster defeated Orleans 6-2 in the Provincial Semi Final to earn a date with East Nepean for the Provincial Championship game tomorrow at 12 noon in Brockville.
July 27 Update- Ancaster defeated Timmins 12-2 to finish the round robin at 3-0 and clinch first place in Pool B and a berth in the Semi Finals. Ancaster will face the Orleans Red Sox in the second semi final at 3:00 pm on Monday July 28.
July 26 Update- Ancaster defeated the Upper Ottawa Valley River Cats 14-4 today, to improve to 2-0 in the tournament. Final game of the round robin is tomorrow against the Timmins Lynx.
July 25 Update- Ancaster defeats East Nepean 7-4 to open the provincial championship tournament. Diamondbacks survived bases loaded 1 out or less in the 5th and 6th innings to hold off East Nepean and get to 1-0. Up next is Upper Ottawa Valley tomorrow at 9 am.
