Rowan’s Law
Rowan’s Law concussion awareness rules came into effect in Ontario on July 1, 2019. Sports organizations must not register athletes under 26 years of age unless the athlete, and a parent or guardian for athletes under 18, confirms they have reviewed a Concussion Awareness Resource within the previous 12 months.

Registration requirement
As part of registration, all players, coaches, or parents or guardians of players must acknowledge they have reviewed the concussion awareness information above. Participants will be blocked from registering until they acknowledge. Please review the information before starting registration.
Lightning Policy
All games played under the auspices of Ancaster Little League shall be suspended immediately upon the instance of thunder and or lightning. Team managers shall inform opposing managers and the umpire in chief of this policy prior to the start of play.
What happens when thunder or lightning occurs
  • Any person who believes thunder or lightning has occurred should immediately notify a team manager
  • The team manager will immediately inform the umpire in chief
  • The umpire in chief or persons in charge will stop play and confirm the instance of thunder or lightning
  • All participants and spectators are requested to leave the field and seek protective cover
  • Games remain suspended for 30 minutes after the last instance of thunder or lightning
  • The 30 minute clock resets to a full 30 minutes upon any reoccurrence
Safety reminder
If you can see it, flee it. If you can hear it, clear it.
If thunder or lightning continues, continuation or cancellation of the game will be decided by the umpire in chief in accordance with Little League Baseball rules or any interleague or intercity rules where applicable.
