Minor Division (Ancaster Little League)

PrintMinor Division
Ancaster Little League Minor Division is for players aged 9 years old.

Minor Division will use a hybrid model of pitching machine and live pitching throughout the season. Pitching machines will be used at the start of season transitioning into pitching to help players develop in the transition year from t-ball to baseball. We will be dividing balanced teams based on evaluations in the spring. Four outfielders are deployed which provides more playing time.

No player sits twice until all have sat once. Each player shall have a minimum on two innings per game in an infield position and one outfield position during the game. All players bat in a continuous batting order. Coaches focus on developing individual and overall team skills.

There is one practice per week and one game per week. There will also be one full weekend of play. The season starts early May and goes until mid August. Game scores and standings are recorded.

Upon completion of the regular season, a post-season playoff tournament is held. Playoffs are a double knockout or series format, to be contested over 3 weeks. Games may occur on any day of the week, and may not follow the traditional schedule from the regular season. The top 2 teams from this tournament play on Championship Day and receive medals.
