What are the differences between Major and Intermediate/Junior? This means that now if you wish to continue on with Ancaster Little League you may, the new divisions will still encompass a houseleague and an all star system. Which means all players and coaches will participate in houseleague, and the best players will be selected to the All Star team and compete against the provinces best players.
This division of Little League looks a lot like the game you see on television when watching the Blue Jays, longer basepaths mean lead-offs, the diamond is still sized to the kids playing which means home runs are possible, and tight defense is required to get outs, but we begin to incorporate more advanced baseball skills into the game for pitchers, base runners and batters.
You can continue to play with your friends who you have made within your Little League career and some Intermediate games can be played at the Snake Pit, a similar schedule will apply for houseleague of 1 practice per week and 1 or 2 games per week, with a playoff to conclude the season. Depending on registration, our houseleague will also interlock with Oakville, and hopefully Dundas or Stoney Creek if they decide to join us with Intermediate play. If your child choose to play All Star baseball, there will be an additional practice or two per week, and weekend tournaments. There will also be an opportunity to represent Ancaster in the International Tournament and a shot to become Canadian Champions in July and August.
